Internet Trolls: How to Politely School an Internet Troll on Social Media

We all have our own opinions, that’s what makes us unique and beautiful in our own way.

We’re at an age where social media is a platform that allows us to spread our opinion quickly . For many of us, visiting social media platforms are a part of our daily routine. It’s a great way to keep in contact with your family and friends.

But we also need to understand that there are people who do not use social media the same way as you or me. To some, social media can also be used to raise awareness for important causes. To others, it can also be used to spread hate.

Social media does amplify polarized opinions. It can get way out of hand for those who can’t have an educated discussion without putting someone down. This is the same for both vicious trolls and common friends.

The morning after and we may no longer be friends.

It’s sad. I’ve seen that happen over and over again. I’ve even been part of it when people chose to suck the life out of my posts just because I had a different opinion. I opted to unfriend them. I felt they weren’t planning to listen (at least they came across that way).

We’ve all had friends who disconnect with one another on social media instead of having a friendly conversation (like it should be).

Can it be avoided? Today, we will try.
